This training was exactly what we needed to help us incorporate a more practical approach to reflective practice. It’s something we’ve been aware of and regularly engage in, but having formal training to enhance our skills and learn how to better look after ourselves was a valuable opportunity.

What will it cover?

This half-day training on Reflective Practice & Resilience is designed to support both individuals and team leaders in building reflective habits that enhance personal wellbeing and professional effectiveness. Participants will explore the principles and benefits of reflective practice, using a range of models and tools to better understand their experiences, manage challenges, and foster ongoing learning and growth.

In addition to strategies for supporting teams, the training offers tools for recognising and managing stress, setting healthy boundaries, and responding to self-criticism with increased self-compassion.

By the end of the session, participants will feel more confident in using reflective practice to support themselves and others—contributing to a more resilient, self-aware, and compassionate workplace culture.

The training aims to cover:

  • Understand the principles and benefits of reflective practice in leadership and supervision
  • Explore and apply reflective models including: Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle, Driscoll’s What Model, and Kolb’s Learning Cycle
  • Develop strategies to embed reflective practice into everyday leadership and management to strengthen team effectiveness and resilience
  • Strengthen awareness of professional boundaries and work/life balance in reflective leadership
  • Enhance their ability to recognise and support the mental health and wellbeing needs of team members
  • Identify sources of stress and apply strategies for stress management and self-care
  • Challenge self-critical thinking and develop self-compassion in reflective practice
  • Leave with a personalised action plan for incorporating reflective practice into their leadership or personal approach
